The Wakeland swimmers and divers started the 2018 season off on a fantastic note with the girls’ team winning the FISD Sprint Invitational and the boys’ team taking second. The girls beat their nearest competitor – Prosper – by over 30 points. The boys fell to Prosper by 3 points and the next closest team was over 100 points behind them. Some highlights include the girls 100 free relay (Jenna Hood, Lydia Medigovich, Christina Wise, and Noelle Tong) taking first and breaking the meet record with a time of 47.47. The previous record had not been broken since 2010. Jack McKenna won the 100 free and Ty Gibbs won the 200 free. The team will race again on October 11 against Lovejoy. Great job and keep swimming fast!!
